Lone Walker

Goodbye

Yesterday the QE2 visited Hobart for the last time as part of its farewell cruise and is destined to become a floating hotel, casino, restaurant and conference centre in Dubai. During its life it is estimated to have carried 2.5 million passengers and sailed almost 5.6 million nautical miles which exceeds any other ship in history. Interestingly it also holds the record for the fasted ocean liner capable of 32.5 knots or 60 km/h
Its visit yesterday marked the eighth time that the vessel has come to Hobart since its original visit in 1978
