The Three Musketeers

Three Musketeers is a photo i took some years back and posted on my old photoblog. It was painted on the walls of the Hobart Rivulet and in searching for my photo for the daily photoblog this month I couldn’t think or find anything better than this one. I went back to the place where it was today (behind the Village Cinemas car park in Hobart for the locals that are interested) and it had been painted over by something far less interesting.
This photo as mentioned is part of the DailyPhotoBlogs Theme Day:
“March 2008 Theme Day: Graffiti or street mural
Post a picture of a street mural or some graffiti in your city. This can be anything from some random graffiti on a wall to a professionally done mural spanning the entire façade of a building.”

Glad you’ve got it preserved. The ephemeral nature of graffiti is part of its charm though i guess.
Too bad it’s not there today. That is one cool piece of art. So glad you photographed it when you had the chance … and could find it.-:)
This was fun. Nice colours. Pity it got painted over.
Murals don’t always last long, do they?
Sometimes your photo might be the only trace of what once was…
It reminds me of the 70s graffiti and murals I used to see.
Art is in the eye of the beholder isn’t it? I can’t imagine what is over this now!
this is one worth preserving a record of
It’s a shame that it’s gone now, but so nice that you captured it in your photo.
Nice! I like it.
Hi Greg!
Thanks for posting on my blog (Guelph). I wish I knew how to put all the links in for those blogs participating in the Theme Day…
Pat
there’s still 3 =) too bad somebody vandalized the graffiti! =D Good day!
Nice post, Greg. I’m glad you preserved this!
it looks great!
not too bad actually. hahaha…
ok, i think i have been looking at too many graffiti photos today, i am beginning to think that graffiti looks good! haha
Happy Theme Day!
Thank you all for visiting
That was painted by my good friend. “The 3 musketeers” are actually 3 guys from the Tasmanian rap group Open Mic Knights.
I work at Youth ARC and run various graff art workshops.
My main job this year is to create a legal graffiti/art wall to decrease to create murals etc.
If anyone has any questions or suggestions please email me

Thanks
BTW, good work Greg!!
Hi Joel, thanks for the back story on this one, i always wondered what its story was from when i took this shot a couple of years back. Its just a shame now when i went back it had been painted over !
And thanks, glad you enjoy
