Parking with a view

Where i park my car when i drive on a workday has a million dollar view and yet it costs nothingwith views up and down the Derwent and of Macquarie Wharf. Like me a lot of drivers take advantage of the free parking at the Hobart Regatta Grounds although depending where you go it can be a little bit bumpy, ok for my 4WD but no so good for a small car.
I was there this morning around 7.40am and now that it is Autumn dawn is later and dusk sooner too so i could see the last traces of the sunrise in the sky. It doesn’t look that great a day but at the time i parked the car it was around 23 degrees C (73 F) and our maximum tempreture today was 37.3 degrees C (99 F), the hottest day of the year. Shame it took until Autumn to get it!

It’s lovely to see a varied mix of pictures and articles to describe Tasmania. Fine blog.

I also park my car down there and cannot believe that we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We really do tend to take this sort of stuff for granted sometime. I’ve heard that the council are undertaking a review of parking down there (it was mentioned in the latest newsletter from MAST) so we should make the most of it whilst it lasts!
P.S. Love your site!

Hi Phill - i have lived in various cities around Australia for work and nothing beats Hobart. Closest place to what felt like home was Perth. I do think a review is a good idea as it could be put to better use i expect. And thanks, always good to get a local liking what they see here
