The Aurora Australis docked in Hobart. It is an Icebreaker and is used as the Antartic supply ship for Australia’s research stations in the antartic territory. Normally it is docked for six months of the year during the antartic winter. Hobart is also used by the French as their home port for the French antartic resupply ship.

  8. That’s such a striking image. I can just imagine that red in a sea of white. One of my great grandfathers was captain of a merchant ship, and one of his stops was Tasmania, more than a hundred years ago.
