Franklin Square

Franklin Square at night
Hobart Today

Today’s shot is of the City of Hobart and Mt Wellington with its recent covering of snow that i took today. I didn’t go up the Mountain today, instead preferring to visit Mt Field National Park where i visited Lake Dobson and Mt Mawson.
Waterworks Reserve

Today’s photo is of the Waterworks Reserve in Hobart. First constructed in the 1860s, it provides water to the city of hobart that is received through a series of pipes and creeks from the Mountain. It also has a number of BBQ areas and walking tracks.
Red Sky in the Morning

This is the sunrise this morning, bright and red that lit up the whole sky, even in the Westerly direction that I was facing when i took this photo. Made me think about the saying “Red Sky at Morning, Shepherds Warning” and over the course of the day i pondered the origin of the saying, in the end i decided it was just some ancient form of a protection racket run by druids or sheep farmers!
Fog and the Tasman Bridge

You know the saying timing is everything. Well as good as my timing was for yesterdays photo Bridgewater Jerry today’s shot was not quite so well timed. Wanting a good shot of the fog and the Tasman Bridge, as i parked the car i saw exactly what i wanted with the sun just touching the top of the fog over the bridge and looking perfect. In the minute between parking and grabbing the camera the fog moved a little, the sun got a little higher and when i wanted to take the photo i was facing straight into the unblocked sun. Doh.
So today’s shot. The Western side of the Tasman Bridge taken Tuesday Morning avoiding the sun when including the eastern side!
