The Hospital
I am continuing my Port Arthur themed series for a couple more days. today’s shot is of the Hospital from the side. Like yesterday you can see the signs of work done to stablise the building.
Restoration Work
The last prisoners left Port Arthur in the 1870s and the penitentiary was subsequently damaged by a bushfire in 1897 but until the 1960s little was done to preserve Port Arthur. Today inside the penitentiary there has been much work to allow the building not only be accessible but also to support the building to minimise future decay
Angles
Not sure about you but looking at this picture of the church at Port Arthur the Angles seem all wrong
Looking at the View from the Big House
A view out the window of the penitentiary at Port Arthur. I expect at the time the occupants were not looking at the view. The cells themselves were internal so no one would have had a view from their cell.
