Tour

As part of the entry fee for all visitors at Port Arthur there is a walking tour taking in some of the sights of the site and to tell them some of the story of the site.
I got the question as to why there were no people in most of my pictures the other day from Julie why there were no people in my pictures. easy answer, i just prefer to show the place rather than the people. and so when possible i wait for a people free shot!
The Commandant’s Desk

I am continuing the series from Port Arthur today with an indoor shot. The Commandant’s house has been restored to its original state. Or states is the better word as through it’s life it has grown from a four room cottage to more rooms when the commandant got married and it was later a hotel. different rooms reflect different stages of it’s life.
I have got way behind on comments, I really am going to do something about that!
Leafy Avenue

There is a leafy avenue leading up to the church at Port Arthur. When i was there the shade was a pleasant change from the hot sun.
Chimney

A chimney standing at the Penitentiary at Port Arthur.
