<p>Today is the first of the month and a City Daily Photo theme day, this month&#8217;s theme being &#8220;Empty&#8221;. <a href="http://www.citydailyphoto.com/portal/themes_archive.php?tid=30">Click here to view thumbnails for all participants</a>.</p>
<p>The subject of today&#8217;s photo is a shot i took in January 2009 when the Craigborne Dam in the Coal River Valley, East of Hoabrt was declared empty. The original river bed and an old bridge that crossed the river were visible as the water level dropped.</p>
<p>Today things have changed thanks to some healthy winter rainfall and the level is back up when i took this photo earlier in the week &#8230;</p>
