Richmond Gaol

Cheers – Time for a Beer at the Richmond Arms

I am continuing my series from Richmond Tasmania. This time it is the local pub The Richmond Arms.
And after posting yesterday wondering about how long the water would last for some gardeners, lots of rain and a thunderstorm here in Hobart.
Gardening

The nice thing about visiting Richmond is that the farms come right up to the edge of Richmond. Hear this couple was working in their field although I don’t know how much longer they will be able to keep watering. Their irrigation water I assume comes from the coal river which is right now far from reliable since the Craigborne dam dried out. I guess then it will look as dry as the hill in the background.
Hidden Letterbox

Pity a new postman in the Richmond area because he will never see this letterbox for the gaol hidden in the bushes!
And on the topic of mail, a reminder that you can subscribe to Hobart Daily in a number of ways and never miss another update

Graveyard

On the hill overlooking the river stands the graveyard.
