I was at Sandy Bay Saturday where i photographed people swimming and it seemed strange to see people playing Soccer which i always think of as a winter sport on the sports ground behind. Sitting in the car i was lucky enough to then get the man and his dog come into view letting me take the shot you see now.

(c)hobartdaily.com - Bellerive Oval where Australia is playing South Africa in a One Day International Cricket Match

Today’s photo is of Bellerive Oval where Australia are taking on South Africa in a one day international cricket match. The crowd capacity is set today for around 16,000 although its a bit too crowded for my tastes. And worse … they don’t sell full strength beer at the international matches !!!!

I deliberately wanted to show what a beautiful location it is set in with a park and beach between the ground and the river. The city of Hobart is across the river and to the right.

Wild Oats XI on the other hand had to stop after one of its rudders became tangled with a 2 metre shark!
