Sunset over the Tasman Bridge

This is from the same night as the Wednesday picture Sunset on Murray that i posted.

The bridge pictured is the Tasman Bridge as you would have guessed from the title. It is the main bridge from the Eastern Suburbs of Greater Suburbs to the City of Hobart and you may notice a gap in the pylons slightly to the right of the centre (and highest) span. This is because on January 5, 1975 the bridge was struck by the bulk carrier Lake Illawarra which caused two pillons and three sections of decking to fall on the ship sinking it and where it remains at a depth of 35 metres now. The accident also cost the lives of 7 crewmen on the ship and five motorists who drove off the edge before traffic was stopped.

Walking up Murray Street towards the CBD i could see some of the sunset ahead and had to share it as it felt like such a contrast to the city itself.
