A touch of colour

A still grey day from the Regatta grounds looking up the Derwent River towards the Tasman Bridge.

Looking up from the Gordon Dam, South West Tasmania. If i was bad with the heights looking down at the dam in my friday photo, i was even worse when standing on the dam. Out of the ten photos i took this was one of two in focus. And the worse bit, walking up the stairs …

Rocks in Lake Pedder, South West Tasmania.

This is the Gordon dam holding back the waters of Lake Gordon and spanning the Gordon River.
Some facts about the dam:
- Height 140 metres
- Length of Crest 198 metres
- Thickness at Base 17.7 metres
- Thickness at Crest 2.8 metres
- Volume of Concrete 154,000 cubic metres
- Volume of Water at Full Capacity - 12,450 million cubic metres
Not being good heights this isn’t a place i will be rushing to visit again any time soon!
